Thank You

A quick Thank You card using spellbinders Decorative Frames and Labels 2. The background is stamped with a SP rose stamp in blue ink. The frame was sponged with the same ink. I finally figured out how to do it without the color bleeding and making a mess!! Now if I could only remember how I did it..... I think the trick was to use pigment ink and to do it slowly and carefully.  This card was pretty much cased from one of Becca's.

Precious Moments Puppies

Thinking of You card. A little different from the typical pastels that go with Precious Moments, but I was in the mood for watermelon colors. I used spellbindesr ovals and labels along with some flower brads and green ribbon.

Put On Your Armour

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Ephesians 6:11-13.
This has been my favorite Bible verse in the last few weeks.

Card Details:
Paper: Patterned: K & Co Blue Awning
Stamp: Whiff of Joy (cross on shield added with a sharpie marker. I wiped the ink off of the other pattern before I stamped it).
Colors: copic markers, silver and blue radiant pearls added for shimmer, distress ink for edges
Verse: Computer generated
Assessories: Spellbinders swirl (?), snake from misc. button collection

SIL Birthday Card

Okay, well, I missed her birthday. I did remember to call, but I didn't get this finished in time to get it in the mail before they left on their vacation. So, it will be VERY late in getting to her!!
This was made with a Rosebud Rubber Stamp, of course. The sentiment was generic. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the pink and white paper, and copic markers for the birdhouse.

Come to Me

This card describes how I've been feeling lately....really tired!! So, it was the perfect verse for me to use. I've really been wanting to use this watermelon color. It was a nice change for me. Maybe next time I'll try a little more of an orange color (I hate orange, so it won't be pure orange. Maybe a red/orange).

  • Stamps: Verve
  • Paper: Basic Grey Porcelain, Bazzill basics
  • Ribbon: Offray Lady Chiffon -Watermelon, cream (on button) from The Rober Stanley Collection (Hobby Lobby)
  • Ink: Spanish Olive Dew Drop Chalk Ink Versa Magic
  • Assessories: EK Success butterfly punch, Hero Arts Gemstones, Prima flower, button, spellbinders, scallop scissors, Vintaj metal dragonfly, Martha Stewart branch punch

Easter baskets

These were lots of fun to make. I made 12 of them for Adam's preschool class. I'll try to post more pictures later. I still have the one that Adam brought home. I didn't get pictures of the rest. There were about 4 or 5 different styles. The template is from Claire and you can download it here. Mine were not quite as fancy, but I love the way they turned out. Blessed Easter to everyone. It's snowing here in Colorado, so we're going to try to head out to church.

Finally the Bookmarkers!

Okay...this is what I'd planned on doing when I first got my crafts back out. I was going to make bookmarkers and try to sell them......so I thought I had better finally get some going. I've been wanting to make something for awhile now with the praying girl stamp. The blue verse bookmark I totally cased from a card by Amy Sheffer. She has beautiful cards...be sure to check them out!!

Cheerful Thoughts

I made this card for Becca. I'm sending her a little goodie bag in appreciation for all of the hard work she does for us bloggers and admirers of her work!! Hopefully she won't check my blog before she gets the card.
  1. The stamps are from Rosebud Rubber Stamps (not in my Etsy store yet.)
  2. For the Roses, I embossed with gold, and I used watercolor paper with tombow markers and a watercolor blender brush
  3. The brown paper is from SU, and I'm not sure where the striped paper came from (it's the backside of the pink printed paper).
  4. I used dark chocolate "perfect match" ink from papertreyink.com for the words.

I won blog candy!!

I can't believe it!! I won some blog candy!! The folks over at Our Daily Bread had an Anniversary celebration and they were giving out blog candy, and I won one of the stamp sets over on Becca's blog. As soon as I get the set I'll make a card and post it.

I believe in the Old Rugged Cross

I'm having more fun playing with my Rosebud Rubber Stamps!! These are not on my Etsy store, and I'm not sure if these are still being made or not......you'll have to check out ibrakeforstamps.com and look under "Rosebud Rubber Stamps."

To make this card I used some crackle background paper from Paper Pizazz and Basic Grey Skate Shoppe. Spellbinders circles & scalloped circles and tags. A couple of buttons from dill-buttons (hobby lobby), and a couple of gold half-pearls. I chalked around the images with brown chalk. I'm going to try to get a better picture of this tomorrow when the light is better!!

Cross Names of Jesus Easter Card

I like how this card turned out. I used a kaleidascope stamp pad (riviera maybe?) and cut it out with a spellbinders die. The patterned papers are from Basic Grey Euphoria, except for the flower punched from a BG bittersweet remnant. A flower button, pink dot ribbon, and some pearls finish it off. The words "Christ is Risen" was embossed with white embossing powder. I also used a decorative scissors edge on the center strip and rubbed some white ink on the edges.

Easter Bookmark

I had something very different in mind for this, but my end result is usually very different from what I started out wanting, so that's no surprise. The colors are a little bold, but I still like it.

All stamps are from Rosebud Rubber Stamps. I used spellbinders long rectangle and scallop, and the little tag is also from spellbinders. The egg was gold embossed and watercolored.

Magnets?

I made these little cards with the intention of making them into magnets. I also wanted to add a little easel back so they could be displayed on a table top. I'll have to work on the size so that they fit on the self-adhesive magnets that I got. Some of the stamps I used can be purchased in my Etsy Store.

Mario Birthday

Today is Peter's Birthday!! I just had to try a Mario card. He's a little skinny, but not bad. I used the cricut Paper Doll cartridge.

Birthday Card

Yet another birthday!!! Love you, Sis!

This card was made with a stamp by Rosebud Rubber Stamps (of course!)

Wedding/Anniversary

Okay...finally I made a card just for the fun of it. Not anything that I need to stick in the mail today! However, I do have 3 birthdays coming up in the next week, so looks like I'll need to get busy!!!! This card can be used for many different things with just a few changes, like Wedding, Anniversary, Valentine's Day, etc....
I used Basic Gray Bittersweet paper with some blue and tan scraps. I used the spellbinder's scallop and basic circles and the tag. I used Martha Stewart heart border punch, deckle edge scissors, heart eyelets, and 3 rubber stamps -1 Corinthians heart, wedding bells, and "congratulations." I have the verse stamp available for purchase on my etsy store (see link at top of blog). I can get the other stamps if interested. Just send me an email.

Valentine's Card

Okay, this is a little late, but I just finally got around to getting it out of my camera.  This card was cased, but I can't remember where I saw it or I would put the link....

Valentine Birthday Card

Some little Valentine bags I made for Adam's preschool class. We filled them with Valentine toys and he got to pass them out during the party at school.

This card was made for my "birth mother". Her birthday is on Valentine's Day. I was adopted, and I met my birth mother when I was about 22 years old. I hope she likes it.

My First Explosion Box

Just some patterned paper (Anna Griffin) with a corner punch, a flourish from Cricut's Home Accents, prima flowers, and a pink pearl crystal sticker.

My FIRST EXPLOSION BOX!!! Okay...this only took me SEVERAL days to finish. I just kept adding and adding and adding....Not bad for a non-scrapper, and a rustly old card maker (if I do say so myself.) I hope my Mom likes it. It's for Valentine's Day, and it's from me and the grandkids. I guess I'll have to make my Dad a card too. (Maybe something a little more simple, or it might be Father's Day before it's ready.)
Here is a link to the website that has the pattern: http://www.scrapbook-crazy.com/explosion-box-album.html

TOP LAYER OF EXPLOSION BOX:

The roses are on the backside of the flaps (I used cricut's wild card)

I thought this layer was going to be boring, with just photos, but it turned out to be my favorite!! I used a sizzix die cut for the tag with the window. I embossed "I love you" on the window flap with cuttlebug embossing folder, added a heart brad, the end of a flourish stamp, and raspberry paper behind it. The center is stamped and embossed with "Happy Valentine's Day" by Inkadinkado, and I added some country heart buttons.

MIDDLE LAYER OF THE EXPLOSION BOX:

This flower is on the backside of each flap.

On the middle layer I stamped the heart on raspberry colored paper and cut out each one (yes, I cut out all four.....) then each child, and myself wrote a note to Mom (or Oma). Jonah got to stamp his note, since he is only 2 yrs old.

BOTTOM LAYER OF THE EXPLOSION BOX

Here is the bottom layer of the card. I used various stickers (Basic Gray Bittersweet), spellbinder scalloped square cutouts, heart brads, prima flowers, cricut tags and hearts, crystal stickers, and other misc. stuff. One flap has a pocket with a tag you can pull out (says "I love you")

My first Glass Block Light

My first attempt at a glass block light. This one if for my Dad. He is a Lutheran Minister (retired -sort of)...and he likes Martin Luther's seal. I hope he likes this version. The artwork is a little like stained glass. I don't really like the way the ice texture on the glass block shows through. I think I'll need to get the clear glass next time. Also, the lights all sit at the bottom. Not sure how to fix that unless I just need more lights. It's a 20 light strand. The artwork was printed on vellum, and then laminated, and stuck on with a large sheet of double sided adhesive. I tried my "bowdabra" for the bow. I'll have to practice a little!!

This card is for my other niece. There is a gift card holder that will go inside. Between my brother and me, we have 6 kids, and 3 have birthdays in February!!
